Well we did it, the Council passed the Inverteil/Morrison application 36-18. The seemingly endless meeting went on and on and then our item seemed to ebb and flow from support to opposition but finaly the vote was taken and with great relief it was passed.
So well done to everyone because your support made this happen. We have no doubt that without the support from local people this application would have failed. Many councillors mentioned over and over again ‘its what the people want’
KNAT would like to thank councillors for their support today, in particular George Kay, Ron Edwards, Neil Crooks and Alice Soper. Our thanks and congratulations to Councillor Chisholm on becoming Depute Provost
There is still some way to go to get the store built and some negotiations to happen on the conditions. We hope that these issues are delegated to the Area Committee so there is local input and a check kept on council officers and the developers to ensure they build the store we want and commence the regeneration of Inverteil
